In 75 years, MARCY fitness has gone from a California staple to a worldwide producer of equipment now used in commercial gyms. As its latest addition, MARCY has redesigned fitness yet again. The MARCY GS99 Dual Stack Home Gym combines two stations for two people to work out at the same time. The weight stacks are situated back to back at a 90 degree angle so that even though it is twice as large as regular home gyms, it can fit in most rooms, albeit snugly.
Whether working out with another or wanting a broader workout, the GS99’s dual stack design gives you a wider array of workouts through the use of two different stations. The main station is equipped to work the full body with a chest press, pec dec, pulley stations, leg developer and curl station. The second offers a bit more focus with its leg press and shoulder press. Combined, it is a machine that promotes heavy compound lifts and lighter isolation work.
The maximum weight allowed depends on the section of the machine. The pec dec is limited to 115 pounds while the leg press reaches 320 pounds. As for dimensions, the entire thing stands 82 inches high and runs 72 inches across. It is held together with a 50mm by 50mm steel frame while the pulleys are 10cm and have sealed bearings. The cord used is 2,000 pound tensile strength cables.
Is the Marcy GS99 the best duel stack home gym?
All in all, our view of the GS99 has been extremely positive. It is praised for its design, cited as a machine that is built to last. The materials are top quality and the rig is secure. The only downside is that it does take a few hours to put together. Even so, assembly is straightforward, preventing it from being a frustrating build.
The Marcy GS99 Dual Stack Home Gym is a machine made for those that are serious about getting in shape. Though its dual stack does bump the price up, it also adds more versatility to equipment that tends to be limited. Though the leg weights go up to an advanced level, the remaining options only allow the new lifter to reach an intermediate level, meaning the machine does have limited potential. No matter, it still is enough to take the beginner to incredible levels of fitness long before they’ll need to trade out this home gym. Another benefit is that 2 people can use the gym at once.
The only concern we have is around the size of the GS99. As it’s a dual stack it has a much larger footprint that the average Multigym and it’s solidly built so you won’t want to be taking it down very often. Overall, a great option for those that have the space available!

Summary
Overall a sturdy, well made home gym. The dual stack means it has more exercise options than similar gyms at the same price. We think it represents good value, but it’s very large.
